My most recent trip led me to Charleston, South Carolina. I went for a girl’s weekend to visit my best friend from college. She lives in Mount Pleasant, but I had to go an extra night so that I could check out The Grand Bohemian in Downtown Charleston. I had heard such fabulous things about the decor and the rooftop bar. I was so excited to finally try out this boutique hotel owned by Marriott. And now that Marriott bought Starwood, my loyalty travel program of 10 years, it was a done deal. The Grand Bohemian did not disappoint. The gorgeous lobby with custom furniture and extravagant details was some place I could have spent all day. Those tuffed metallic sofas were other worldly. The rooftop bar definitely lived up to the hype, and the wines by the glass list was quite impressive. My girlfriends and I enjoyed the rooftop, the wine and the view. My room was gorgeous, and in true Charleston fashion, my view out the 4th story window was of a beautiful live oak tree. The Grand Bohemian mixes luxury, art, and Southern charm with precise perfection. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. And if you have never visited Charleston, I must say it is my favorite city in the South. Amazing food, great art, historic charm, beaches and islands. And it doesn’t hurt that every where you go has some version of pimento cheese on the menu.
My Favorite 5 things to do in Charleston
1. Eat at FIG
2. See art at Robert Lange Studios.
3. Have a whiskey at the HUSK bar.
4. Eat boiled peanut hummus at Magnolias.
5. Drinks on the roof of The Grand Bohemian’s Eleve.
