Summer weather is flirting with us. Rainy some days, full on summer heat the next. It’s a fun dance that always keeps you on your toes in Colorado. Despite my attempts of wearing dresses and skirts, my summer fashion game always brings me back to a tank and shorts. When I am painting in the studio a tee and cut off denim shorts covered in paint is my go to.
I am really loving this flare & off the shoulder combo this season. I feel so at home in the 70’s bohemian trend and love seeing all the different options designers are bringing to the table. I simply love these high-waisted flare jeans. They remind me of bell bottoms I used to make in high school by adding extra denim fabric in the paneling. I especially love this off the shoulder black silk top by Joie. Easy. Breezy.
It’s May. This sun is finally shining. Beyonce’s new album is amazing. I get to plant my garden this weekend. And it’s Cinco de Mayo Thursday. So basically this Monday is kinda awesome. It’s been snowing and raining lately and I have been channeling my inner spring goddess by wearing bright colors and rocking daffodil yellow nails. Hey, if the spring wasn’t gonna come to me, I was going to meet it half way. It seems to maybe have worked, as the sun is out and it is going to be warm and sunny all week.
Spring in Colorado is a funny thing. One day it is 75 degrees and the next it’s a snowing. For me, it’s always this weird pull between wanting the ski season to last as long as possible, (this year Vail just announced staying open an extra week, yay!) and wanting your flowers to bloom and to dust off your grill. It’s not quite open toe weather but it’s so darn close.
