Last weekend, I had the honor of hosting the Mara Hoffman Trunk Show at Denver’s Goldyn boutique. I have long been a fan of Mara’s vibrant and bohemian collections and was so excited to curate food and drinks inspired by the Spring 16 Collection. Goldyn owner and dear friend, Vanessa Barcus and I had the joy of attending Mara Hoffman’s Spring 16 Runway show in New York City this past fall. The Willie Nelson inspired collection rang near and dear to our hearts. It was so much fun to share this collection with Denver.
The day was a typical/atypical Denver spring day, i.e. it was snowing. But the snowy weather didn’t keep people from coming by to scoop up swim wear in the hopes of warm weather to soon follow. Nothing quite says spring in Colorado like beanies and bikinis.
I put together a colorful spread of crudites playing off of colors for the line, including watermelon radish, purple cauliflower and roasted beet hummus. And just to give a shout out to Willie, it seems a whiskey cocktail was the perfect hit… So I served up a batch of Whiskey Chamomile tea alongside the colorful spread.
Now a week’s gone by, the snow has melted and it is 80 degrees outside. I sure am glad I got my swimsuit shopping on last week and am ready to frolic in the sun all weekend!!
