Bridal Shower BBQ

The other weekend I had the honor of hosting a Bridal Shower for my bestie Miss Mary Allison Wright. Mary is the owner of Rino Yacht Club in Denver, a cocktail lounge and raw bar in the center of Denver's culinary marketplace The Source. I hosted alongside our mutual bestie Claire Tonelson and we threw her a themed Barbecue and Bourbon Bridal Shower in my backyard. Mary is getting married in Nashville and her reception is in Atlanta at Empire State South. I wanted to throw her something a little honky tonk, a little Southern belle and a little Colorado. So we had a full buffet of barbecued ribs with all the fixings, a mint julep bar and henna tattoos in the garden. The backdrop was a backyard bohemian table scape of red and pink peonies and flowers by The Perfect Petal, gray candles in vintage candlesticks by Ruby + George and gold flatware by West Elm. We had peaches for name tags and vintage blankets and navajo rugs from Ruby + George for lounging while we eat. We got our barbecue from this amazing spot outside of Denver in Fredrick called Georgia Boys BBQ. Definitely the best I have found in Colorado and don't even get me started on the baked beans... They are simply to die for. We dined in the backyard, sipped on mint juleps and listened to my themed BBQ playlist. The mint julep sterling silver cups were loaned to me from my Southern mother and grandmother. The gift for the bride were custom monogrammed linen napkins with her soon-to-be new initials by Passionate Prose on Etsy. For party favors each guest took home a custom BBQ sauce for the occasion. The BBQ sauce labels were from Southern Sticker on Etsy. The super cute custom Chalkboard menu is from Mary and Jack on Etsy. Wifey balloons and floral straws by Twigs and Twirl on Etsy.
Hope you enjoy the photos and inspirations from our BBQ shower. Who says a bridal shower can't be full of whiskey, ribs and cole slaw? A bridal shower should be a reflection of the loves and passions of the bride, and this shower was just such a thing. A special evening for a special lady.
We love Mary! Can't wait for the real honky tonk in Nashville!!
