Spring is in the air which means longer days and the beginning of patio season. I have a new grill that I am excited to put to use the spring. We moved over the summer last year, and my last place didn’t have a grill so I missed out on a season of grilling. I love these turkey burgers for easy entertaining. I like to serve them with a simple salad, and a glass of dry white wine. You can also make oven sweet potato fries for a more hearty meal or to share with kids. This meal is also easy to prep and can make beforehand, just keep the patties stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Then make sure to let them sit at room temperature before grilling.
I’m excited to share more spring and summer recipes with you over the coming months. In the meantime check out my skinny watermelon margaritas to get you in the spring spirit!
Turkey Burgers with Green Goddess Aioli
- 10 ounces organic ground turkey
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp avocado oil mayo
- 3 springs fresh basil
- 6 springs fresh parsley
- 3 springs fresh tarragon
- gluten free buns I love Canyon House
Optional garnishes include
- roasted red pepper
Chop all the parsley. Set half aside for the mayo.
Drain the turkey meat and pat dry. In a bowl, mix turkey meat with half of the parsley and the paprika and garlic powder. Generously add salt and pepper and stir. Using wet hands, make into two patties.
To cook the patties on a stove top, use 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking. Add the patties and cook, turning once, until browned and cooked through, 4 to 6 minutes per side. Move to a plate. To grill, use a medium grill and cook for 6 minutes a side with grill closed while cooking.
Make the green goddess aioli.
Mix finely chopped basil leaves with tarragon and parsley leaves. Coarsely chop the leaves. Mix into mayo. Add salt and pepper to taste.
