The sun is shining and the weekend is upon us which has me all excited for gardening and patio chillin’. This gin cocktail is so refreshing for just an occasion. My tarragon plant in the garden comes back with a vengeance every year, and I have so much of it already, which is perfect for this cocktail.
My friends opened up a cool new bottle shop in my neighborhood called Bottle Rocket. Tomorrow is their grand opening, but I snuck in earlier this week to check the space and score some gin for my weekend cocktail vibes. Bottle Rocket has an minimalist modern feel to it, and it is in the new Lumina building in Denver’s ever hip LoHi. One block from one of my favorite happy hour spots, Root Down, Bottle Rocket is perfectly positioned to keep the neighborhood nice and boozy. They have a focus on craft beer with a varied assortment of liquor and wine, including this organic dry gin by Korval that I feature in this drink. The sweet branding was done by Denver’s Consume & Create and took inspiration from “the irreverent proto punk music scene of the 60’s and 70’s and then dressed it up with a nod to mod fashion sensibilities.” The result, a niche and craft selection of libations sure to keep the hood sauced and experimenting with new concoctions.
Try out my cocktail based off their selections and let me know what you think. (Note to make the drink completely sugar free, omit ginger beer as most have some sweeteners.)
Be sure to follow Bottle Rocket on Instagram for boozy inspirations.
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!
