This is by far one of my favorite green smoothies of all time. The kale is so well balanced with the sweetness of the pineapple and banana. I add almond butter and hemp seeds, not just for their perfect nutty flavor, but also to pack some serious protein into the smoothie. This smoothie has 10g of protein. It’s great for early morning protein, or post workout.
The detox. Pineapple is about as magical for the body as it is shape of a fruit. This tropical art of a fruit is full of vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, phosphorous and potassium. Also the bromelian found in pineapples has many health benefits, including improving the digestive track and regulating secretions in the pancreas to aid in digestion. Kale is pretty much earth magic as well. Kale is high in iron, vitamin K, vitamin A, vitamin C and calcium. It is anti-inflammatory and high in antioxidants. This little leaf is definitely carrying its weight is health benefits to back up with kale craze trend that is basically everywhere now.
Kale and Pineapple Detox Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup pineapple
- 1 cup torn green kale
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 T almond butter
- 1 T hemp seeds
Makes about 2 cups.
