It’s December 1st, and there is snow on the ground in Denver which means it’s *officially* Beanie Season in Colorado! I love winter. It is actually my favorite season! This wasn’t the case before I move to Colorado, exactly 10 years ago next month… But when I moved here, I promised myself I would learn to embrace the mountains, learn to snowboard, and learn to enjoy the snow itself, as I grew up with barely a dusting of snow a year in North Carolina.
Now I have fully embraced my winter side. I can both snowboard and ski, I love cooking soups and stews in the winter, making hot toddies, listening to old records by the fireplace, and getting cozy in sweaters, layers and beanies!
This first winter look features a great beanie by St Louis company 1717 Olive. I discovered this cool designer on Shop Bop. Here is their profile on the designer. “Named after a small industrial building in its hometown of St. Louis, 1717 Olive was launched in 2009, conceived from a love of art and design. Each season, the brand’s designers cull inspiration for upcoming styles from a select group of artists’ works. Using details found in these images, they incorporate the design elements into the textures and hues of the collection. 1717 Olive is committed to enriching the community, and supports ‘Summer Search,’ a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping low income youth build the skills needed to thrive.”
