It’s the first day of fall, the Autumn Equinox… A time to say sweet goodbye to the joys of summer and find balance in change as the seasons slip into winter. Fall is such a magical time of year.
The way the wind dances with leaves as they fall off of trees. The comfort of grabbing your favorite sweater and cozying up with a hot beverage. The smell of roasting squash in the oven. The golden hues of Aspens speckled through the evergreens.
I have always loved fall, and as my years in Colorado have grown, Winter has become my favorite season. I know, I know.. Most people think that sounds crazy… But if you ski and live in Colorado, you get me.
Our normal fall equinox ritual is to go camping around Aspen and hike to see the leaves change. Since I am out of my house during the basement project, I find myself spending the first day of fall in my roots of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. The leaves are just starting th turn red.
Today I am celebrating fall with a morning hike, my favorite new cozy sweater, and cooking soup for my parents and grandmother tonight.
The sweater is from Goldyn’s new Japanese designer collection, Pais de Calais. It’s so so cozy, it’s already sold out. My go to fall bag is this black fringe bucket bag from Loeffler Randall. And the shearling sneakers… Well let’s just say “thank you Barneys’s Warehouse close out sale!”
