Last week ATC DEN gallery hosted our first Holiday Party, “Mistletoe and Margaritas.” It was a benefit fundraiser for a wonderful non-profit in Denver, Colorado, Art from Ashes. Art from Ashes uses the creative process to help facilitate personal transformation with at risk youth. Three of the youth performed spoken word at our event along with AfA’s own Poet Jen Harris. We had a killer silent auction full of art and swag from local businesses, margaritas from our generous sponsor Tequila Ocho, including both a Cranberry and a Ginger Maple Marg, and great bites were enjoyed thanks to another Denver non-profit, Comal.

Big thanks to everyone who made this event happen. 2017 has been a trying year on so many levels; politically, environmentally, and socially. It feels really warming to end 2017 by doing some good in our local community that can directly help kids find their own voice and give them the creative tools to navigate their own lives. Kids need access to the arts so they can discover who they are for themselves, not who society tells them they should or should not be. So big heartfelt thanks to Art from Ashes for bringing that platform to these kids.
